Glass Work
My interest in glass began at a very early age. I was fascinated by the glassworkers I would see at malls and fairs
creating tiny sculptures with torch flames.
Working with stained glass sheets making windows and other objects was
my introduction to creating
with glass. The endless choices of colors and textures kept
me happy creating windows for several years.
When I discovered that people were melting glass with torches and making beads
I just had to learn how to do it myself. I was fortunate to become the apprentice
of a well-known local glass beadmaker (and my first instructor), Sylvie
Elise Landsdowne.
Over the years I've had the good fortune to take classes with all of
these well-known glass artists: Sharon Peters, Kate Fowle-Meleny,
Michael Barley, Larry Scott, Loren Stump, Jim Smircich, Lauri Copeland, Kristen Frantzen
Orr, Kim Miles, Jennifer Geldard, Ofilia Cinta, Corina Tettinger, Brad Pearson,
Bronwen Heilman, Sage and Tom Holland.
Jewelry Design
I've been making jewelry almost my entire life. I began designing
projects and teaching beading classes in 2004. Two of my designs
have been featured in Beadwork Magazine; the Marguerite Bracelet in
April/May 2006, and Star of India in December 2006/January 2007. |
